River Hawks Honor Senior Class Against UNH on Thursday

 LOWELL, Mass. -- The UMass Lowell women's basketball team hosts New Hampshire at the Tsongas on Senior Night and the River Hawks' Play 4 Kay game.

A Look Back
Brianna Rudolph (Lynn, Mass.) scored 10 points and Paula Lopez (Leon, Spain) grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds in the loss at Binghamton. The freshman added five steals and five assists in the effort.

Leading the Flock
The River Hawks are paced by Kayla Gibbs' (Teaneck, N.J.) 12.4 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. Brianna Rudolph is second on the squad with 9.9 ppg, while Paula Lopez leads the team with 66 assists and 40 steals. Jennifer Louro (Belmar, N.J.) has 34 three-pointers to anchor the deep ball attack. Gibbs and Angel Agoth (Rochester, Minn.) have registered nine blocks to pace the defense. As a unit, UMass Lowell is shooting 40.9 percent from the field, and 31.4 percent from beyond the arc.

Welcome to the Club
With her nine rebound performance against Stony Brook, Kayla Gibbs became the sixth player, and first since Lindsey Doucette, in program history with 1,000 career points and 750 career boards. She currently sits at 1,171 and 776, respectively.

O No
For the first time in 38 games (1.11.17-2.14.18) Kayla Gibbs was kept off the offensive glass. The streak began and ended with contests against Maine.

Going National
Entering the week, Kayla Gibbs ranks ranks 11th with a 60.9 field goal percentage and 20th in offensive rebounds per game (4.0).

Scouting New Hampshire
The Wildcats (17-11, 8-7) lost to Stony Brook their last time on the court on February 17, and have lost three of their last five contests. Carlie Pogue is one of four players in double-figures, leading the way with 15.0 points per game. Olivia Healy is scoring 12.4 and grabbing 6.5 rebounds per game. Kat Fogarty and Brittni Lai round out the group with 11.4 and 10.3 points per game, respectively. Healy paces the defense with 46 steals, while Lai has dished out 112 helpers. UNH is shooting 39.4 percent from the field, with a 25.4 clip from deep.

Series History
The Wildcats hold a 9-1 edge in the all-time series.

A Budding Rivalry?
UMass Lowell's last two AE wins have come against the Catamounts. The most recent win snapped the River Hawks 15-game overall and 32-game conference losing streaks.

For the first time in 2017-18, the River Hawks finished a game shooting 45.0 percent or better from the field and three-point range. Against UAlbany, UMass Lowell connected on 47.7 and 53.3 percent, respectively.

First Half Deja Vu
Before the matchup at Hartford, the River Hawks  held a lead at halftime in three of the previous four games. 

Follow the Leader
From Jan 15-18, UMass Lowell led the its two games for 52:52 and was tied for 3:18. In the first half, the River Hawks were outscoring opponents, 57-45, but were outscored 82-40 in the second half.

Crazy Eights
The eight spot New Hampshire put up in the first quarter was the fewest points UMass Lowell has allowed in the opening frame this season.

Block Party
From 12/31-1/10, Angel Agoth recorded two blocks in three straight games.

Full Team Effort
For the third time in Division I, every River Hawk player that entered the Cornell contest scored. The previous two times for UMass Lowell happened against Longwood in 2016-17 and Holy Cross in 2015-16. The River Hawks are 1-2 in these meetings.

Notables
Lopez has been named the America East Rookie of the Week in back-to-back weeks (11.13, 11.20).
