#SpreadRespect games, formerly branded You Can Play Nights, were created with the purpose of furthering awareness and education to ensure equality, respect and safety for all athletes without regard to sexual orientation or gender identity. That respect also extends to race, ethnicity, gender, religion and more. 2017-18 marks the fourth straight each that each program will take part in the event.
A Look Back
The River Hawks held two late leads but could not hold on for the win, as the Seawolves escaped Costello with the 63-60 victory.
Kayla Gibbs (Teaneck, N.J.) tied a program record, shooting 90 percent from the field, and had a game-high 21 points, while
Brianna Rudolph (Lynn, Mass.) recorded her first career double-double (16 pts, 10 rebs).

The River Hawks are paced by
Kayla Gibbs' 12.4 points and 8.8 rebounds per game.
Brianna Rudolph is second on the squad with 9.1 ppg, while
Paula Lopez (Leon, Spain) leads the team with 55 assists and 33 steals.
Jennifer Louro (Belmar, N.J.) has 31 three-pointers to anchor the deep ball attack. Gibbs and
Angel Agoth (Rochester, Minn.) have registered nine blocks to pace the defense. As a unit, UMass Lowell is shooting 40.8 percent from the field, and 32.2 percent from beyond the arc.
Welcome to the Club
With her nine rebound performance against Stony Brook,
Kayla Gibbs became the sixth player, and first since
Lindsey Doucette, in program history with 1,000 career points and 750 career boards. She currently sits at 1,135 and 758, respectively.

For the first time in 2017-18, the River Hawks finished a game shooting 45.0 percent or better from the field and three-point range. Against UAlbany, UMass Lowell connected on 47.7 and 53.3 percent, respectively.

Before the matchup at Hartford, the River Hawks held a lead at halftime in three of the previous four games.

The Catamounts (8-16, 5-6) have earned victories in their last two games, including a win against UAlbany in their last time out. Hanna Crymble leads the team with 18.5 points, 24 steals and 5.8 rebounds per game, as Sydney Smith is scoring 11.5 points per game in support. Katie Lavelle has dished out 99 helpers, with Candice Wright has recorded 24 blocks. Vermont is connecting on 39.1 percent from the field, and 28.8 percent from deep.

The Catamounts have taken the last three meetings to hold a 5-4 advantage in the all-time series, including the first matchup this season.
Follow the Leader
From Jan 15-18, UMass Lowell led the its two games for 52:52 and was tied for 3:18. In the first half, the River Hawks were outscoring opponents, 57-45, but were outscored 82-40 in the second half.

The eight spot New Hampshire put up in the first quarter was the fewest points UMass Lowell has allowed in the opening frame this season.

For the third time in Division I, every River Hawk player that entered the Cornell contest scored. The previous two times for UMass Lowell happened against Longwood in 2016-17 and Holy Cross in 2015-16. The River Hawks are 1-2 in these meetings.
