LOWELL, Mass. -- UMass Lowell men's soccer back
Ivan Blaskic (Zagreb, Croatia) was named to the Google Cloud Academic All-American Second Team, selected by CoSIDA, as announced on Thursday afternoon.
Blaskic is the first River Hawk in program history to be named an Academic All-American, as he has earned a 3.86 GPA in computer science. Last month, the junior was named to the Academic All-District team for the second straight season.
In 2018, Blaskic tallied two goals and two assists for six points helping UMass Lowell to an appearance in the America East semifinals. The back also earned repeat selections on the America East All-Conference First and All-Academic Teams.
To be eligible for Academic All-America consideration, a student-athlete must be a starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director.
