River Hawks Return Home for Two at Costello

LOWELL, Mass. -
- After a season-long five-game road swing, the UMass Lowell women's basketball team returns to the Mill City for a pair of games at Costello this week. The River Hawks welcome Colgate on Wednesday night for Club Sports Night, before entertaining Providence on Saturday afternoon.

In the final week of the road swing, UMass Lowell went 1-2, including a 69-64 win at LIU Brooklyn to snap the River Hawks 13-game road losing streak. The River Hawks dropped a hard-fought contest at Holy Cross to conclude the trip, despite 19 points from Ren'Cia Rolling (Lansing, Ill.). 

A Win Would..
- Give the River Hawks the series lead against Colgate

- Be UMass Lowell's first-ever win against Providence

Three-Point Parade
UMass Lowell's nine makes from beyond the arc tied a season high, and Ren'Cia Rolling's five are tied for second all-time in the Division I era. Three players combined for the nine three-pointers with Linda Svenne (Riga, Latvia) adding three and Kharis Idom (Orlando, Fla.) hitting one.

A Look at the River Hawks
-Brianna Rudolph (Lynn, Mass.) is averaging 9.9 points and 4.9 rebounds per game
-Ren'Cia Rolling has 48 assists and 16 steals
-Rolling is shooting 44.8 percent from three-point range (13-29)
-The River Hawks are shooting 39.5 percent from the field and 31.8 percent from beyond the arc

Scouting Colgate
-The Raiders are 3-4, with a 0-4 mark on the road this season
-Rachel Thompson leads the lineup with 13.7 points per game, 8.7 rebounds per game, 25 assists and 14 steals
-Mylah Chandler has recorded 10 blocks on the season
-Haley Greer has connected on 10 of Colgate's 35 three-pointers
-The Raiders are shooting 39.2 percent from the floor and 28.9 percent from beyond the arc

Scouting Providence
-The Friars have a 4-3 record, with four wins in their last five contests
-Jovana Nogic is scoring 15.0 points per game and has registered 14 steals
-Mary Baskerville is grabbing 6.6 rebounds per game, and Maddie Jolin has 22 assists
-Providence is shooting 40.3 percent from the field, and 35.4 percent from three-point range

Rolling All the Way to the Top
With her 10 assists against Fisher, Ren'Cia Rolling became the program' s DI single-game leader and the first player to reach double digit assists in a game since 2012.

Helping Each Other Out
The 25 team assists by UMass Lowell set a new Division I team high and is the most by a River Hawk team since 2016.

Stealing a Spot in the Records
With her six steals against Bryant, Brianna Rudolph now holds the Division I single-game mark. She now sits sixth in DI career history with 52 swipes.

Stealers and Helpers
The River Hawks have recorded 10+ steals and assists in two contests in 2018-19, a feat the team achieved four times in 2017-18.

Speeding Up the Fast Break
In the first eight games of the season, UMass Lowell has scored 45 points on the break, nearly doubling last season's average (3.2). The 2017-18 River Hawks only eclipsed eight points three times and matched the output once.

Notables
Garrick became third fastest coach in program history to pick up his first win with UMass Lowell.
