River Hawks Close Out Non-Conference Slate at Morgan State

LOWELL, Mass. -- The UMass Lowell women's basketball team looks to ride its momentum from before the holiday break into the non-conference final at Morgan State on Saturday afternoon.

The River Hawks used a 15-2 run in the fourth quarter to stun Massachusetts, 62-59, for UMass Lowell's first win over its sister school. En route to a double-double (22 pts, 12 rebs) and a new career high, Brianna Rudolph (Lynn, Mass.) scored the visitors' first 11 points of the contest.

A Win Would..
- Give the River Hawks their first win in the all-time series
- Mark the most wins in a season for UMass Lowell since 2014-15

A Look at the River Hawks
-Brianna Rudolph is averaging 11.2 points and 5.3 rebounds per game
-Ren'Cia Rolling (Lansing, Ill.) has 63 assists and 21 steals
-Rolling, Kharis Idom (Orlando, Fla.) and Linda Svenne (Riga, Latvia) have combined for 41 of the team's 53 three-pointers
-The River Hawks are shooting 39.6 percent from the field and 29.6 percent from beyond the arc

Non-Conference Marks
With a win at Morgan State, UMass Lowell would reach five wins against non-conference opponents for the first time since 2014-15. The River Hawks picked up six victories before conference play in that campaign.

Scouting Morgan State
-The Bears are 1-12 on the season and are in the midst of an 11-game skid
-Adre'onia Coleman leads the offense with 15.5 points, and adds a team-high 6.9 rebounds per game
-Morgan State is 0-2 against America East foes, falling to Hartford and UMBC
-As a team, the Bears are connecting on 32.8  percent from the field and 22.9 percent from three-point range

Turning Mistakes into Points
The River Hawks matched their season high with 24 points off of turnovers in the win at Massachusetts. UMass Lowell outgained the Minutewomen, 24-3, for the team's largest advantage of the season.

Rolling All the Way to the Top
With her 10 assists against Fisher, Ren'Cia Rolling became the program' s DI single-game leader and the first player to reach double digit assists in a game since 2012.

Helping Each Other Out
The 25 team assists by UMass Lowell set a new Division I team high and is the most by a River Hawk team since 2016.

Stealing a Spot in the Records
With her six steals against Bryant, Brianna Rudolph now holds the Division I single-game mark. She now sits sixth in DI career history with 52 swipes.

Stealers and Helpers
The River Hawks have recorded 10+ steals and assists in three contests in 2018-19, a feat the team achieved four times in 2017-18.

Speeding Up the Fast Break
In the first 12 games of the season, UMass Lowell has scored 74 points on the break, nearly doubling last season's average (3.2). The 2017-18 River Hawks only eclipsed eight points three times and matched the output once.

Notables
Garrick became third fastest coach in program history to pick up his first win with UMass Lowell.
