BOSTON, Mass. - UMass Lowell men's basketball redshirt-junior guard
Christian Lutete (Silver Spring, Md.) was named the America East Co-Player of the Week on Monday, following a record-setting performance against Loyola (Md.) on December 21.
Lutete logged a career-high 34 points to propel the River Hawks to a 97-79 victory against the Greyhounds in the squad's lone game last week. His 12 field goals, seven free throws and three steals in that outing also marked new personal bests. The veteran guard added six rebounds in the contest, as well.
This marks Lutete's first career America East weekly award. He shared the honor with Vermont's Anthony Lamb, who averaged 31.5 points in two games.
So far this season, Lutete is leading the River Hawks with 16.6 points and 8.1 rebounds per game.
