LOWELL, Mass. -- On April 10, 2018, Tom Garrick was named the eighth coach in UMass Lowell women's basketball history, as this year's River Hawks look to build upon the program's first Division I postseason appearance.

"High expectations, because I think the only expectations I really have is for everybody to give their best each and every day, and to put forth the right amount of intensity and effort," remarked Garrick. "Once you do that anything is possible, but getting to that isn't very easy, so each day is a little bit of a grind but it's a good grind. And my expectations are the same that they would be for my own children and that you compete and that you work hard and that you expect to excel in everything that you do."
