River Hawks Wrap Up Road Slate At New Hampshire

LOWELL, Mass. – Coming off a perfect two-win home stand the UMass Lowell men's soccer team plays its final road contest of the regular season with a quick trip to the Granite State to take on New Hampshire. 

The River Hawks stood pat in a tie for second place in the America East standings with a 2-0 win against UAlbany last weekend. Stanley Alves (Minas Gerais, Brail) scored his fifth goal of the season in the 30th minute, and Ivan Blaskic (Zagreb, Croatia) added an insurance score in the 71st minute. 

11 DAYS IN LOWELL
The last two times these teams met happened over an 11-day span in 2017, with Blaskic providing two of three goals. The River Hawks knocked off the then-ranked No. 17 Wildcats 1-0 in double overtime on Oct. 28, and opened their America East Championship run with a 2-1 victory against No. 21 New Hampshire on November 8. 

RIVER HAWK LEADERS
Alves retook the team lead with his score (5g, 2a), with a total of 12 points. Roko Prsa (Zagreb, Croatia) trails Alves by one point (4g, 3a) and paces the offense in helpers. Alves and Prsa have combined for six of UMass Lowell's eight game-winning goals. Between the pipes, Zach Rowell (Haverhill, Mass.) is 7-1-2 with 22 saves and a 0.39 GAA, in addition to six shutouts, while Patrik Gujic (Bjelovar, Croatia) is 1-3-0 with 16 saves and a 1.78 GAA.
 
SOARING IN THE NATION
- Rowell is third in all of Division I with a 0.39 GAA to lead the America East with six shutouts as well
- Alves' four game-winning goals sit tied for 17th and is tied atop the conference

SCOUTING NEW HAMPSHIRE
- The Wildcats (8-3-2, 2-2-1) enter the matchup winless in their last two contests
- UNH is 7-0 at home, including a 2-0 mark in conference play
- Antonio Calacci has four goals and 10 points to pace the offense, while Jack Doherty has three assists
- In net, Lars Huxsohl has a 0.67 GAA and 20 saves, with six shutouts
- Each team has picked up three wins apiece in the six meetings

FIRST GOAL
The UAlbany win improved the River Hawks to 31-1-3 since September 13, 2015 when UMass Lowell scores first. 

HOME, SWEET HOME
Over the last 24 games at Cushing Field, the hosts are 19-2-3 dating back to 2016. The River Hawks are 28-9-4 in the Mill City since 2014.

Stanford's lone goal snapped UMass Lowell's program record consecutive shutout minutes mark at 403:33. 

HAWK THE VOTE
UMass Lowell has been ranked in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 poll for 22 weeks since 2016.

#BASICFORMACHERMANN
Before the season, Basic was named as one of 32 players on the MAC Hermann Trophy Watchlist. The MAC Hermann in college soccer's most prestigious individual award.
 
AWARD SZN
Kauzlaric and Gujic were named AE Rookie and Defensive Player of the Week (9.24) ... coming off his first career shutout, Rowell was named the America East Defensive Player of the Week (8.20).

PLAYING FAVORITES
For the second consecutive season, the River Hawks were picked as the favorite to win the America East, voted on by the coaches.
