LOWELL, Mass. -- The UMass Lowell women's basketball team welcomes Maine to the Tsongas Center for the program's fourth annual Health and Fitness Field Trip Day, complete with the traditional 11 a.m. tip off.

UMass Lowell took an early 5-3 lead, but saw Hartford take control with a 12-0 run in a three-minute span.
Brianna Rudolph (Lynn, Mass.) matched her career high with 18 points, and connected on a personal-best four three-pointers. The River Hawks shot 50 percent from the field in both the second and fourth quarters, but could not keep pace.

The Annual Health and Fitness Field Trip Day is a chance for local elementary school children to learn about healthy habits and has a unique 11 a.m. tip off. The River Hawks are 1-3 on Field Trip Day, and played in front of a program attendance record of 4,192 in 2016-17.

The Black Bears (13-8, 6-2) enter the matchup riding a four-game winning streak to move into second place in the AE standings. Blanca Millan paces the team with 17.5 points per game, 59 steals and 14 blocks. Tanesha Sutton has dished out 66 assists and is grabbing 6.8 rebounds per game, while scoring 10.8 points. Julie Brosseau sits in second with 11.8 points per game, as well. Maine is connecting on 40.7 percent from the field, including 31.4 percent from three-point range.
