VESTAL, N.Y. --
The UMass Lowell Volleyball team fell in straight sets at Binghamton on Friday night at West Gymnasium in America East play. The set scores were 24-26, 22-25 and 24-26.

UMass Lowell's overall record now stands a 5-10 (0-2 AE) with the loss, while Binghamton improves to 4-11 overall (1-1 AE) with the victory.

"Binghamton played a solid match tonight and really challenged our offense," said Head Coach Resa Provanzano. "Unfortunately we did not make adjustments or play with the type of energy we are capable of showing. We are determined to change that tomorrow and leave it all out of the floor."

Sophomore outside hitter Katherine Claybaugh (Danville, Calif.) notched a match-high 14 kills and seven digs in the loss for the River Hawks. It marked Claybaugh's ninth match of the season with 10+ kills, which includes each of the last four matches.

Sophomore outside hitter Madi Bell (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) and senior outside hitter Masha Yelsukova (Santa Clara, Calif.) each chipped in with seven kills apiece.

Junior libero Lindsey Visvardis (Homer Glen, Ill.) recorded a team-high nine digs, while junior middle blocker Lade Adeniyi (Springfield, Ill.) posted four total blocks and three kills.

UMass Lowell amassed 12 kills and a .269 hitting percentage in the second frame, to go along with 14 kills in the final set.

The River Hawks return to action on the road in America East play at UAlbany on Saturday, September 30th. Match time is 6 p.m. from University Gymnasium.
