LOWELL, Mass. – The UMass Lowell Volleyball team defeated Coppin State in four sets on Saturday night at the Costello Athletic Center. The set scores were 25-21, 25-15, 25-19, and 25-16.
 
The victory improved the River Hawks record to 4-9 overall, while CSU falls to 0-15.
 
Sophomore 
Katherine Claybaugh (Danville, Calif.) tallied a team-high 17 kills on the night, while also recording 12 digs and two aces. Senior 
Masha Yelsukova (Santa Clara, Calif.) registered nine kills with a .182 hitting percentage.
 
Sophomore 
McKenna Bova (Corona, Calif.) and junior 
Delaney Mendez (Phoenix, Ariz.) led the way in assists with 21 and 19, respectively, and an ace apiece. Junior co-captain 
Lindsey Visvardis (Homer Glen, Ill.) captured a team-high 15 digs, three assists, and an ace.
 
UMass Lowell out hit (49-34), out dug (49-34), out aced (7-2) the Eagles, while CSU held an advantage in blocked shots, 10-7.
 
UMass Lowell returns to action on Tuesday, September 26th against Bryant. Match time is set for 7 p.m. at the Costello Athletic Center.
