LOWELL, Mass. – UMass Lowell Softball Head Coach
Danielle Henderson welcomes
Taylor Carbone to her staff for the 2018 season as a volunteer coach. Carbone joins the River Hawks' program after spending one season as an assistant coach at Emerson College.
"I'm excited that we are able to add a great player and person like Taylor to our coaching staff," said Henderson. "She will bring great versatility to the staff because she played infield and outfield, and pitched in college. She was a great hitter, as well, so she will be able to help our offense in both what she can offer as a hitter and by giving our hitters the ability to see more living batting practice."
During her time at Emerson, Carbone assisted the head coach with creating practice plans, setting game day activities and recruiting. She was also in charge of coaching the team's pitchers and hitters.
"I'm extremely excited and honored to join the coaching staff here at UMass Lowell," said Carbone. "Having the opportunity to work with Coach Henderson and the coaching staff as a whole is invaluable. I'm looking forward to working with team and helping them achieve all their goals."
Carbone has been a private pitching and hitting instructor since 2013. She has also spent time working as both a head and assistant coach for the U-18 Polar Crush since 2014.
A native of Hudson, N.H., she played four years at the University of Massachusetts. As a freshman, she was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team. She also received All-Conference Second Team and NFCA All-Northeast Region honors as a senior.
Carbone graduated from Massachusetts in 2016 with a bachelor's degree in psychology.
