LOWELL, Mass. – After suffering the program's first non-conference loss since October 2015, the No. 25 UMass Lowell men's soccer team is back in action for a pair of home games, hosting Quinnipiac and Monmouth.
River Hawk Rewind
Behind a penalty kick in the 108th minute, the River Hawks fell to Northeastern, 2-1, in double overtime on Saturday night.
Ivan Blaskic (Zagreb, Croatia) notched his second goal of the season to even the score at 1-1 in the 62nd minute. The River Hawks recorded 20 shots and 12 corners, while
Austin Kroll (Baltimore, Md.) registered three saves.
Leading the Flock
Blaskic (2g, 1a) sits atop the team with five points, while
Richard Mulo (Kisimu, Kenya) has four points from two goals.
Jakov Basic (Zagreb, Croatia),
Dario Jovanovski (Zagreb, Croatia) and Gui Rodrigues (Lowell, Mass.) each have two assists, accounting for six of the River Hawks' 12 helpers. UMass Lowell has outscored its opponents 8-2 in the four games this season. Between the pipes, Kroll has allowed two goals on 34 shots, and has recorded 10 saves with a 0.71 goals against average and .769 save percentage.

The River Hawks enter this weekend's action at No. 25 in the United Coaches Top 25, No. 12 in the TopDrawer Soccer Top 25 and No. 23 in the College Soccer News Top 30.
A Helping Hand
UMass Lowell sits atop the America East with 3.00 assists per game. The 12 helpers rank second overall to UAlbany's 13.
Scouting Quinnipiac
The Bobcats (1-3) were shutout for the third time this season after falling at Brown, 2-0, their last time out. Matthew Taylor has the team's lone goal, while James Doig and Rashawn Dally assisted on the tally. In net, Chrysostomos Iakovidis has made all four starts posting a 1.73 GAA and a .500 save percentage on 41 shots.
Scouting Monmouth
The Hawks (2-2-1) head to Columbia on Sept. 12 before making the trip to Lowell for Saturday's matchup. On Sept. 9, Monmouth suffered a 2-1 overtime loss to UMBC. Four players have scored for the Hawks, with Jake Areman adding two assists to lead the team with four points. Bobby Edwards has racked up five starts with a 0.57 GAA and .864 save percentage, with three shutouts.
Series History
The River Hawks own the lead all-time against both teams, posting a 3-1-3 record against Quinnipiac and a 2-1 mark against Monmouth. UMass Lowell defeated both teams in 2016.

Kroll now sits third all-time with 29 career wins and 19 career blank sheets. With 382:53 of total playing time this season, he sits fifth all-time with 4,895:04 minutes in a River Hawk uniform.

With the two early wins in Lowell, the River Hawks are 8-0-2 in the Mill City over the last two seasons, and have posted a 17-7-3 home record since 2014. Since joining DI, UMass Lowell is 18-10-4 at Cushing Field.

All four Croatian players have recorded a point this season, combining for 16 of the team's 28 points. Blaskic's five points lead the group while Jovanovski (1g, 2a) and Basic (1g, 2a) have four points and Abramovic (1g, 1a) has three points.
