LOWELL, Mass. – The UMass Lowell women's soccer team (0-0-1) will travel to Bryant on Wednesday, Aug. 23 before returning to Cushing Field to face NJIT on Sunday, Aug. 27.
 
Last Time Out
The River Hawks are coming off a season-opening, scoreless draw against Army West Point on Sunday night. The match saw junior goalkeeper Julia Schneider (Bridgewater, Mass.) record her eighth career shutout, stopping eight shots. Junior midfielder Rachel Morrier (Plaistow, N.H.) took four shots in the game, recording the only shot on goal for the squad.
 
Record in Openers
The tie against the Black Knights moved the River Hawks record to 0-3-2 in season openers and a 0-3-1 record in road openers since joining Division I.
 
Scouting Bryant (1-0-0)
The Bulldogs are coming off a season opening 3-0 win at Rhode Island on Friday. Three different players, Amanda Spitaleri, Alison Guilmette and Haley Reddish, each tallied a goal, while the tandem of Rachel Brightman and Meghan Dalton combined for seven saves to keep the Rams off the board.
 
Series History
The River Hawks and Bulldogs will meet for the 16th time in school history with each team winning seven times with one tie. UMass Lowell was victorious in their previous matchup, 1-0, last season at Cushing Field.
 
Scouting NJIT (0-1-0)
The Highlanders fell, 1-0, to Manhattan in their season opener on Friday night. Karen David and Amelia Sapirman teamed up to stop eight shots. Carly Berdan recorded four shots, including two of the team's three on goal, while Fiorella Doglio took three shots for NJIT.
 
Series History
This will be the first meeting between the River Hawks and Highlanders.
