LOWELL, Mass. — Freshman Hana Caster (North Attleboro, Mass.) notched a career-best three points on the day, as the UMass Lowell women's lacrosse team (6-5, 0-3 AE) was stumped, 15-4, by UAlbany (7-4, 3-1 AE) on Saturday afternoon in America East action.

Caster matched a season-best two goals in the outing, as the freshman owns 11 points (5g, 6a) in as many games in 2017.

Juniors Courtney Barrett (South Burlington, Vt.) and Ashley Horan (Methuen, Mass.) caused a game-high three turnovers apiece, while Barrett led the way with three ground balls.

"Today was tough but I was happy with how we were able to pull somethings together in the second half," said Head Coach Carissa Medeiros. "In the second half we had more energy and were certainly able to put things together. We hustled more and were able to win some of those hustle plays. Things got away from us at the beginning, but I was happy with how we bounced back after talking about having pride on our home field."

The Great Danes carried a 10-goal cushion, 10-0, into halftime, behind four goals from attack Dakotah Savitcheff. UAlbany broke open the scoring with a free position goal at 27:45, to snatch a lead they would fail to relinquish throughout the contest. The visitors were able to capitalize on a handful of River Hawk fouls, as the squad tallied five man-up goals during their 10-goal run. The Great Danes held the River Hawks to five shots, as a tough UAlbany defense kept UMass Lowell scoreless after 30 minutes.

After a pair of goals increased UAlbany's advantage to 12-0, sophomore Kristina Keith (East Kingston, Mass.) got the River Hawks on the board with a free position shot at 18:07 in the second. Keith capitalized on a Great Dane foul to find the back of the net for the seventh time this season.

UMass Lowell would go on to notch three additional goals in the contest, rounding out their scoring at four. Caster played a hand in all three points, recording an assist on the River Hawks' second tally, before netting the teams' third and four goals, respectively. Junior Kaylan DiModugno (Deer Park, N.Y.) first connected with Caster at 11:30 to beat the UAlbany goalkeeper stick side to cut the deficit to 14-2. Caster would later pick up an unassisted goal at 8:34, before connecting with sophomore Kendyl Finelli (Southborough, Mass.) for her second score of the tilt with two minutes remaining.

Finelli finished the day with three draw controls, while goalkeeper Courtney Barrett made five saves in the outing.
