River Hawks Begin Three-Game Road Swing This Week

LOWELL, Mass. –
The UMass Lowell women's lacrosse team will set out for a pair of road games this week, as the River Hawks visit Harvard on Tuesday, April 11 at 7 p.m. before trekking to Binghamton on Saturday, April 15 for a 12 p.m. matinee.
 
River Hawk Rewind

UMass Lowell currently sits at 6-5, 0-3 AE, after dropping a pair of decisions last week. The River Hawks lost their conference home opener 10-7 against New Hampshire on April 5, before being stumped by conference foe UAlbany, 15-4, on April 8.
 
Leading The Flock

Through 11 games so far this season, attacker Jane Dudley (Duxbury, Mass.) is boasting team bests in points (26) and assists (12), while classmate Rebecca Idson (East Atlantic Beach, N.Y.) is tallying a team-high 21 goals. Defenseman Ashley Horan (Methuen, Mass.) and midfielder Kristina Keith (East Kingston, N.H) are pacing the squad with 19 caused turnovers apiece, while midfielder Kendyl Finelli (Southborough, Mass.) ranks first on the squad with 16 draw controls. So far this spring, nine River Hawks have recorded points, all of whom have found the back of the net at least once thus far. Between the pipes, Courtney Barrett (South Burlington, Vt.) has racked up 84 saves, while boasting a .462 save percentage and a 9.59 goals against average, while recording a team-best 30 ground balls.
 
Scouting Harvard

The Crimson are off to a 6-5 overall and 3-1 Ivy league start and are coming off a pair of split decisions. Harvard began the week with a 17-12 victory against Dartmouth on April 2, before being tripped up at No. 7 Princeton, 20-5, on April 8. Senior Marisa Romeo headlines the Crimson offense with 35 goals and 15 assists for 50 points. Harvard has produced 17 different point scorers, including seven in double-digits. Goalkeeper Meredith Brown owns the majority of the decisions for the squad, posting a 5-5 record, while turning away 78 shots and recording a .398 save percentage.
 
Scouting Binghamton

The Bearcats enter Saturday's tilt at 5-8, 1-1 AE, following a 20-4 defeat at No. 4 Stony Brook in America East action on April 8. Sophomore Rebecca Golderman is leading the charge with 39 points, 35 goals, and 36 draw controls, while classmate Emily Yoo paces all players with 18 helpers. Goalkeeper Emma Jehle is posting 119 saves, a .470 save percentage and a 11.95 goals against average so far this spring.
 
Atop The America East

Ashley Horan and Kristina Keith rank second in the league with 1.70 caused turnovers per game, while teammate Megan Albertsen (Rockville Centre, Mass.) sits tied fifth in the America East causing 1.50. Goalkeeper Courtney Barrett is currently second among the conference in ground balls per game (2.70), goals against average (9.59) and save percentage (.462), while her saves per game (7.90) put her fourth in the America East.
 
Twenty Fun

Rebecca Idson set a new program record of 20 goals in a single season, becoming the first River Hawk to eclipse the 20-goal mark at UMBC on April 1.
 
Sharing is Caring

With 12 helpers in the squad's 13-6 victory at Army West Point, UMass Lowell established a new program record. Junior Taylor Sokol (Hopkinton, Mass.) led seven River Hawks with three assists, while classmate Austin Trasatti (Doylestown, Pa.), sophomore Jane Dudley (Duxbury, Mass.) and freshman Hana Caster (North Attleboro, Mass.) all contributed with a career-high two hand outs apiece.
 
A Couple Two, Tree Records

On March 8, Rebecca Idson rattled off six goals for six points to achieved two program records against Army West Point. The 13-6 win at Army West Point registers the program's first road win and biggest margin of victory since its inaugural season in 2015.
 
Going Streaking!

The River Hawks put together a six-game win streak from March 4 to March 29, marking the longest in program history. UMass Lowell posted four of their six wins at home against non-conference opponents Iona, Quinnipiac, LIU Brooklyn and Bryant.
