WEST POINT, N.Y. – Sophomore
Rebecca Idson (East Atlantic Beach, N.Y.) set a new program record with six goals, as the UMass Lowell women's lacrosse team soared to a 13-6 victory against Army West Point for its first back-to-back wins in program history Wednesday afternoon.
With the win, the River Hawks improve to 2-2 overall why the Black Knights drop to 4-2 on the season. Today's victory marks the program's first ever road win.

"I am very proud of the team," said Head Coach
Carissa Medeiros. "We did every intangible thing we have been talking about. We have been focusing on our energy, effort and execution and we did all of those. We could have cleaned up turnovers here and there as it was a rough outing for both teams, as we both played Sunday and to pull out such a great performance today was very touching."
The River Hawk's offensive was the story of the first half, tallying seven consecutive goals in the programs first ever first half shutout, 7-0. Five different goal scorers contributed to the seven goal half. Idson paced the squad with three points on three goals, while junior goalkeeper
Courtney Barrett (South Burlington, Vt.) denied three shots en route to blanking the Black Knights.
Idson broke open the scoring at 26:28 for her sixth tally of the season, before sophomore midfielder
Kristina Keith (East Kingston, N.H.) gave the River Hawks a 2-0 edge nearly six minutes later. The visitors continued to apply pressure, resulting in two goals just 64 seconds apart from junior attacker Tayor Sokol (Hopkington, Mass.) and Idson to extend the teams' lead, 4-0. The final three goals of the half came in the last six minutes thanks to Idson, and sophomores
Kendyl Finelli (Southbourgh, Mass.) and
Jane Dudley (Duxbury, Mass.) who notched a goal apiece to round out the 7-0 run.
Coming out of the half UMass Lowell strung together three consecutive goals to grab their biggest lead, 10-0, lead with 26 minutes remaining.
