LOWELL, Mass. -- The UMass Lowell Men's Lacrosse team fell to Providence, 11-4 on Tuesday night in non-conference action at Cushing Field Complex.Â
The River Hawks drop to 2-7 overall, while Providence ups its record to 5-3 overall.
Austin Lane (Aurora, Ont.) and
Jon Phillips (Delta, B.C.) scored their team-leading 13th goals of the season. Lane finished the night with a game-high eight shots.Â
Keenan Koswin (Winnipeg, Man.) and
Brandon Beland (Granite Bay, Calif.) scored in the last two minutes in the losing effort. Koswin added a game-high three caused turnovers for the River Hawks.Â
Sophomore
Grant Lardieri (Ada, Mich.) stopped nine shots in the loss, while Tate Boyce stopped 13 shots in his fifth win of the season for the Friars.
Nick Hatzipetrakos had a game-high three goals for the Friars.Â
Freshman faceoff midfielder
Brett Dattilo (Derry, N.H.) won 12-of-19 faceoffs (63%) and posted a game-high seven groundballs.
The River Hawks owned the edge in groundballs, 29-23 and outshot PC, 14-6 in the second quarter and 12-6 in the final quarter.
UMass Lowell returns to action on Saturday, March 25th at No. 9 UAlbany. Game time is 3 p.m.Â
