NORFOLK, Va. – The UMass Lowell (9-7) baseball time had its five-game winning streak snapped, 6-3, by the No. 19 St. John's Red Storm (14-2) on Saturday afternoon.

Collin Duffley (Manchester, N.H.) struck out a career-high nine batters over seven innings in the effort.

After the River Hawks knotted the game at 3-3 in the seventh inning on a two-run throwing error that scored
Cam Climo (Billerica, Mass.) and
Colby Maiola (North Reading, Mass.), the Red Storm retook the lead with a three-run eighth.

In the UMass Lowel rally, Maiola and Climo hit back-to-back singles with one out, and
John Polichetti (Atkinson, N.H.) drew walk to load the bases.
Michael Young (Chester, N.J.) hit a grounder that the second baseman threw away to allow the tying runs to score.

St. John's jumped out to a 3-0 lead with all three runs in fourth inning, before
Chris Sharpe (Burlington, Mass.) trimmed the deficit with a RBI single to score Young in the UMass Lowell sixth inning.
