LOWELL, Mass. - A new season is here. And although this time of year is always exciting, the start of the 2017-18 campaign has some added anticipation surrounding it, as the UMass Lowell men's basketball team has completed its four-year transition period and is now fully NCAA Division I eligible.

"Our guys love playing Division I basketball," said Head Coach
Pat Duquette. I've always had the right guys in our locker room. They've never needed any additional motivation, but truly there is a sense of excitement now that we're fully eligible for the NCAA Tournament and our America East Conference Tournament."

The fifth-year coach and his River Hawk squad open the new season on Friday, November 10 when they visit in-state foe Massachusetts for a 7 p.m. tilt.
