LOWELL, Mass. -- The UMass Lowell volleyball team (5-12, 0-4 AE) fell in straight sets to Stony Brook (12-6, 3-0 AE) 25-23, 25-16, and 25-22 at Costello Athletic Center on Saturday night. Junior Lade Adeniyi (Springfield, Ill.) hit a team-high .500 percent and amassed 10 kills in the loss.

Madi Bell (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) registered 10 kills along with a .269 hitting percentage, while fellow sophomore Katherine Palmer (Ellensburg, Wash.) added seven kills for a new career-high, a .133 hitting percentage, two blocks, and two kills to the River Hawks cause.

Lindsey Visvardis (Homer Glenn, Ill.) led the team defensively with 19 digs to go along with her three assists and an ace as fellow junior Delaney Mendez (Phoenix, Ariz.) assisted on 18 points while chipping in with three digs and an ace.

UMass Lowell out killed Stony Brook 39-37, while the Seawolves held an advantage in blocks, 10-3.

The River Hawks return to action when they host Hartford for Alumni Night on Friday, October 13 at 6:00 p.m. and UMBC for Kids Takeover Day on Sunday, October 15 at 12:00 p.m. at the Costello Athletic Center as the squad celebrates Homecoming Weekend.
