LOWELL, Mass. -- The UMass Lowell volleyball team played to a five-set thriller against Hartford on Friday night at Costello Athletic Center on Alumni Night. The Hawks were able to outlast the River Hawks and take the match, 3-2. The set scores were 30-28, 22-25, 25-20, 20-25, 14-16.
The loss brings the River Hawks record to 5-13 overall and 0-5 in the America East, while Hartford improves to 5-13 overall and 2-3 in league play.

Lade Adeniyi (Springfield, Ill.) dropped a career-high 14 kills and hit a nice .370 to go along with her five blocks against Hartford. Sophomore outside hittersÂ
Katherine Claybaugh (Danville, Calif.) -Â 14 kills, 14 digs, three blocks, two aces, one assist - and
Madi Bell (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) - 10 kills, two blocks and two assists - also chipped in big for the River Hawks.

Lindsey Visvardis (Homer Glenn, Ill.) led the home squad in aces with three, while also picking up 24 digs and three assists. Junior setter
Delaney Mendez (Phoenix, Ariz.) tallied 30 assists, two digs, and one kill, with sophomore setter
McKenna Bova (Corona, Calif.) helping out with 24 assists, six digs, one kill and an ace.
The River Hawks out hit the Hawks in both kills (60-55) and hitting percentage (.175-.161).
The River Hawks return to action on Sunday, October 15 at 12:00 p.m. for a match against UMBC at Costello Athletic Center for Kids Takeover Day.
