Junior keeper

With this result as well as results around the league, UMass Lowell, Vermont, and Maine are still in play for the final postseason berth, while New Hampshire, Stony Brook, Hartford, Binghamton, and UAlbany have all clinched a spot in the tournament.
"I thought that we played well overall," explained Women's Soccer Head Coach
Francesco D'Agostino. "In the beginning it was back-and-forth, but the game began to settle down and we were able to keep the ball. New hampshire is athletic, quick and attacks well with the good players that they have. Rachel [Morrier] grabbed a lot of their attention and we were still able to be effective up front.
Laura Gagnon had a great game and was able to get a couple chances.
Julia Schneider was outstanding in net to get some of the dangerous balls out. We continue to get better every week and are a dangerous team."
The River Hawks played defense the start of the contest, fending off corners and chances from the Wildcats.
In the 16th minute, junior captain Rachel Morreir (Plaistow, N.H.) got the first shot of the night for the River Hawks, but it sailed wide of net.
Freshman
Veronica Morrier (Plaistow, N.H.) put a shot on target off a cross, but the Wildcat keeper was there to make the save in the 36th minute.
Schneider finished with two saves at the half. The squad held the home team scoreless in the opening 45 minutes of play for the 13th time this season, extending their Division I lead of not allowing a score in the first half.
Both teams had ample opportunities to put the ball in the back of the net the second half, but great saves and defense from both teams kept the game scoreless.
The overtime contest marked the seventh time this season the squad played extra minutes, which is three more than the previous Division I record of four set in each of the last four seasons. The River Hawks are 1-0-6 in overtime games this season.
Schnedier stopped six shots in the contest, while Mia Neas stopped five.Â
New Hampshire held an advantage in shots (19-13) and corners (7-0) over UMass Lowell.
The River Hawks return to action on Sunday, October 22 when they travel to Maine for a 1:00 p.m. kickoff to wrap up the regular season.
