Â
For the Record Book
With both Schneider and Morrier having career seasons, they have each earned a spot in the program's record book.
Â
Morrier's 11 goals and 24 points on the season are both good for third in the season leaders list, while her 17 goals and 37 points in her career are good for third and seventh, respectively. Morrier is also the first River Hawk to score at least 11 goals and tally at least 24 points since 2004 when Jody Graham finished with 12 goals and 27 points.
Â
Â
Schneider's 95 saves and 0.91 goals-against average on the season place eighth and fourth, respectively, while her five shutouts put her in ninth. Schneider has moved into second all-time in wins (15), third in saves (252) and goals-against average (1.44) and second in shutouts (12).
Home Field Advantage
The squad concluded the regular season home schedule with a tie against Binghamton on Oct. 15 to cap off a 4-1-3 home record. The winning record at home is the first since joining Division I and the first since 2011 when the River Hawks posted a 7-2-1 record at Cushing Field.
Overtime Rules
On Oct. 15, the River Hawks played to a double overtime draw against Binghamton, marking the sixth time this season the squad has played in an overtime contest, which is a Division I record, and two more than the previous record of four set in the 2016 and 2014 seasons. This season, the squad is 1-0-5 in overtime games, and since making the jump in 2013, the River Hawks have played to a 6-2-8 record when going to extra time.
Â
From the Start
In both of last week's games, the River Hawks held UMBC and Binghamton scoreless in the opening 45 minutes of play. With these results, the squad extended their Division I record to 12 games this season in which they have accomplished the feat, four more than the previous record of eight set in each of the last four seasons.
Â
Notables
Schneider was named River Hawk of the Week (10/17) following her 17 save, one shutout and one goal allowed performance in the squad's 1-0-1 week.
Â
Morrier was awarded the America East Player of the Week (10/09) for her four-goal effort that led the team to an unbeaten (1-0-1) week. The award was the first of her career and the second for the squad this season. Morrier also received the River Hawk of the Week distinction following her performance.
Â
With Birgisdottir's first goal of the season against Hartford in the conference opener, the forward was named America East Rookie of the Week (9/25). The accolade was her first and the squad's first of the season. Birgisdottir was also named the River Hawk of the Week for her efforts in the Sept. 24 game against Hartford.
