LOWELL, Mass. -- The UMass Lowell women's basketball team heads to Baltimore for its final road game in the first half of America East play, as UMBC hosts the River Hawks on Sunday at 1 p.m.

A Win Would...
-Extend the River Hawks' lead in all-time series to 5-2

Last Time Out
Markayla Sherman (Cincinnati, Ohio) and Kayla Gibbs (Teaneck, N.J.) each scored 13 points as the River Hawks fell to Vermont, 61-46, on Thursday night. Gibbs extended her scoring streak to 16 games, and recorded her 11th career double-double with 12 rebounds.  

Leading the Flock
In the midst of reaching double-digits in 16 consecutive games, Kayla Gibbs leads the team with 12.8 points, and is snagging a team-high 7.9 boards per game, with 43 assists. Tyshay Britten (Norristown, Pa.) has a team-high 13 blocks and Nicole Hayner (Bedford, N.H.) is connecting on 35.3 on her three-point attempts. UMass Lowell is shooting at a 38.9 percent clip from the field, and connecting on 29.7 percent from beyonf the arc..

Scouting UMBC
The Retrievers (7-11, 2-3) ended UAlbany's 24-game home conference winning streak with a 64-56 win on January 16, and have won their last two. UMBC has four players averaging double figures, led by Taylor McCarley's 12.9. Lakiah Sims is grabbing 5.4 boards per game. The Retrievers are shooting 36.8% percent from the field and 34.6% from three-point range.

Conference Board Meeting
Kayla Gibbs and Tyshay Britten rank first and ninth in the America East in total rebounding, respectively, through five games of conference play. Gibbs is grabbing 9.8 boards per game, while Britten is snagging 6.4. The redshirt-senior is second in the AE with 3.4 offensive rebounds, while Gibbs is grabbing 7.0 defensive boards to pace the America East. Gibbs' 18-rebound performance against Binghamton is the best single-game mark in the conference this season.

Streak Ender
With the win against Colgate, UMass Lowell ended three losing steaks in the process, including picking up the program's first overtime win in Division I. The River Hawks ended a four-game skid at the Tsongas and picked up their first win against a new opponent in eight games, dating back to last season.

50 Times 6
For only the sixth time in the Division I era, the River Hawks grabbed over 50 rebounds, snagging 51 in the loss against Binghamton. The single-game high since 2013 is 57, set on January 18, 2015.

Free Points
For the second time this season the River Hawks connected on 20 free throws, going 20-of-34 in the win against Colgate. On December 2, the team went 20-of-22 (90.9%) from the free throw line at Columbia. That was the most free throws UMass Lowell has hit in a single game since going 21-of-26 against UMBC in 2014.

H Squared for Three!
The sharpshooting duo of Megan Hendrick and Nicole Hayner have combined for 59 of UMass Lowell's 91 three-pointers, shooting 33.9 percent from beyond the arc. Hendrick's five triples at Towson were the most in a single contest since Hayner hit five last season against Maine. In 2015-16 Hayner led the team with 46 three-pointers and a 39.7 percentage. She ranked third in the America East with in percentage and fourth in triples made per game with 2.0.

Do You Even Bench
Through 19 games, the River Hawks' reserves have scored 313 points and have outscored the opponents' bench six times, coming off a season-high 29 against Keene State. Last season the River Hawks' bench scored 341 points, and outscored opponents 12 times.

The River Hawks have used seven different starting lineups through the first 19 games of the season.

Hayner and Hendrick swept the America East Weekly Awards, being named Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively (12.19).
