LOWELL, MASS. -- UMass Lowell Hockey announced today the start of voting for the first period of "All-Era" teams in conjunction with the 50th Anniversary Season of the program. The culmination of voting will result in the creation of five "All-Era" teams, each which will be commemorated on a collector's edition series of five pint glasses, in conjunction with Jeanne D'Arc Credit Union.

"We are thrilled to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of UMass Lowell Hockey all season long and are excited to partner with Jeanne D'Arc Credit Union to take a look into the past and honor some of our all-time greats," said Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Promotions Jon Boswell. "This is a chance from fans of all periods of the program's history to have an impact in selecting these teams."

The pint glasses will feature an etching of a hockey jersey from the period and the voted members of the team. At a selected River Hawks home game during each month of the season, the first 1,000 fans will receive the collector's edition glasses, courtesy of JDCU.

Voting for the "All-Era" Team from 1967-1977, coinciding with the Lowell Tech, Lowell State and University of Lowell time periods will kick off the voting. Each voting period will last approximately two weeks, with fans having a chance to enter to win a full set of the collector's glasses for voting. VOTE TODAY

The voting periods will cover:
1967-1977 - Lowell Tech Jersey; Saturday, October 8 -  VOTE TODAY
1977-1987 - 1980's Style Chief Jersey; Friday, November 4
1987-1997 - 1992 Style Blue Jersey; Friday, December 3
1997-2007 - 2003 Style "Lowell" Across Chest Jersey; Friday, January 27
2007-Present - Current Style Home Blues; Saturday, February 11

In addition to the voting and collector's glass giveaways, the season will feature a number of tributes at select games, a new third jersey in a throwback style (to be worn first December 9 vs. Merrimack) and more.
