LOWELL, Mass. –
 The UMass Lowell baseball team will play its final three games of the 2016 season, heading to the Garden State to take on Monmouth for a three-game series.

River Hawk Rewind
The River Hawks split the end of their home schedule, falling to Bryant 15-4 on May 17 before defeating the Siena Saints 9-4 on May 18. Siena led UMass Lowell 4-0 in the bottom of the third, before Ian Strom (Hopedale, Mass.) cut the deficit in half with a two-run homer to left. The River Hawks scored six runs in the eighth inning to complete the comeback and take thier home opener. Ben Prada (Laurel, Md.) went 3-for-4, with two RBI and two runs scored. In his first career start, Kendall Pomeroy (Shrewsbury, Mass.) tied a career-high with five of the 11 strikeouts by UMass Lowell pitchers. 

Leading the Flock
Consolmagno leads the team with a .277 average, 49 hits, six triples and 29 runs, while he sits in second with 22 RBI. In the middle of the order, Steve Passatempo (Medford, Mass.) powers the offense with 10 homers and 42 RBI, leading the conference in longballs. Ian Strom (Hopedale, Mass.) leads the team with seven doubles and 21 stolen bases, trailed by Prada's and Consolmagno's 13 as the team leads the America East with 73 steals. On the mound, Kendall Pomeroy (Shrewsbury, Mass.) has four wins, while Andrew Ryan (Rochester, Mass.) has three wins to his name and leads the staff with 54 strikeouts. Brendan Long (Naples, Fla.) leads the team and conference with eight saves, boasting a 1.93 ERA. UMass Lowell is batting .233 as a team, and the staff has a 4.77 ERA.

Scouting Monmouth
The Hawks (28-24, 16-8 MAAC), 2-3 in their last five, will wrap up their regular season this weekend before heading to the MAAC Tournament next week. Shaine Hughes leds the squad with a .385 average and 15 doubles. Pete Papcun powers the offense with five home runs, while Dan Shea has 44 RBI. On the mound, Ricky Dennis is 8-4 with four complete games, while Jordan McRum leads the staff with a 2.97 ERA. Frank Trimarco has a team-high 78 strikeouts. As a unit, Monmouth has a team average of .276 and a 4.68 ERA. 

Series History
This weekend marks the first meetings between the schools in baseball.
