LOWELL, Mass. – The UMass Lowell softball team (10-36, 2-13 AE) will wrap up the 2016 season with five games this week.

The River Hawks visit Bryant on Wednesday, April 27 before hosting Boston College in their home finale on Thursday, April 28. Both of those mid-week contests are set to begin at 4 p.m. The squad then travels to UMBC for its last three-game America East Conference series of the year on Saturday-Sunday, April 30-May 1.

RIVER HAWK RECAP
UMass Lowell, who owns a 10-36 overall record and a 2-13 mark in league play, went 3-3 last week. The River Hawks first split a twin bill at Central Connecticut State on April 19, taking a 3-2 victory in game one. The squad then dropped a hard-fought, 5-1 decision in eight innings against Boston University on April 21 before earning its first two America East wins of the season, taking two of three against Hartford on April 23-24. Both ends of the team's Saturday doubleheader with Hartford went into extra innings, as UMass Lowell secured a 7-6 outcome in nine innings in game two. The team then concluded the week with a closely-contested, 1-0 win against the Hawks on Sunday. Junior

SCOUTING BRYANT
In 2016, the Bulldogs are 6-33 with a 5-7 record in Northeast Conference games. Most recently, the team dropped a doubleheader at Robert Morris on April 24, extending its current losing skid to seven games. Elle Madsen has paced the team at the plate, hitting .312 with 34 hits. Taylor Burger has logged 13 RBI and three home runs, as well. Madsen is also one of Bryant's leaders in the circle with a 3.25 ERA and a 5-11 mark on the year.

SCOUTING BOSTON COLLEGE
Boston College currently sits at 24-20 overall with a 7-8 mark in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Eagles will visit Providence on April 27 before coming to Lowell. The squad most recently swept North Carolina State in a three-game series on April 23-24. So far this season, Jessie Daulton leads the team with a .356 batting average and 48 hits. Tatiana Cortez, who is batting .342, has registered a team-best 31 RBI and 12 home runs. Jessica Dreswick (2.31 ERA) and Allyson Frei (3.03) have split time in the circle, although Frei boasts 158 strikeouts and 13 wins.

SCOUTING UMBC
The Retrievers boast a 20-26 record in 2016, including a 3-8 mark in America East play. The team welcomes Norfolk State for a twin bill before hosting UMass Lowell for the weekend. UMBC split a doubleheader at Lehigh on April 23, including a 2-0 win in game one. Bridget O'Malley leads the team with a .388 average and 50 hits. Kaelin Jackson adds a team-high 35 RBI, while Tori Alexander, who is hitting .366, has scored 35 times on the year. Jesica Holte has been the squad's starting pitcher with a 10-11 record and a 4.04 ERA.

SERIES HISTORY
The River Hawks and the Bulldogs have a long-standing series, as the squads have met 40 times since 1993. UMass Lowell holds a 23-17 advantage all-time, although Bryant earned a 5-1 win last season. The River Hawks lead Boston College, 3-0, but have not met since 1986. UMass Lowell is looking for its first win ever against conference foe UMBC, as the Retrievers lead the all-timer series, 6-0. Â

The River Hawks currently sit seventh in the America East standings. UAlbany leads the league with a 29-12 overall record and a 9-1 mark in conference action. As a team, UMass Lowell is second in the conference with 1,164 at-bats and 127 walks. Individually,

The River Hawks played three consecutive extra-inning games from April 21-23 for the first time in program history. The team first went eight innings against Boston University before playing eight and nine frames in game one and two, respectively, against Hartford.

Sydney Barker tied a program record with three doubles in game one at Dartmouth on April 12. She became the first River Hawk to match that single-game mark since 2011 and the fifth to do so all-time.

Tori Alcorn is in the midst of an 11-game reached base streak, good for the team's longest of the season. She has successfully gotten on base at least once in each game since game one at Rhode Island on April 14.
