LOWELL, Mass. – Coming off a 2-3 week, the UMass Lowell baseball team gets ready for another five-game week with pair of non-conference games against Boston College and Harvard, before heading to Maine for an America East series.

Joe Consolmagno (Worcester, Mass.) went 8-for-18 with six RBI, four runs and two triples in the 2-3 week for the squad, including 6-for-11 against UAlbany. Ian Strom (Hopedale, Mass.) added to the attack with seven hits, four runs and two stolen bases, including a swipe of home against the Great Danes. In the second game of the doubleheader, Steve Xirinachs (San Diego, Calif.) earned his first win as a starting pitcher in the 6-1 victory. UMass Lowell started off the week with a 9-8 win at Brown, behind Steve Passatempo's four RBI, including a two-run homer. 

Leading the Flock
Consolmagno leads the team with a .299 average, 38 hits and 22 runs, while he sits in second with 20 RBI. In the middle of the order, Steve Passatempo (Medford, Mass.) powers the offense with eighth homers and 34 RBI. Chris Sharpe (Burlington, Mass.) leads the team with five doubles and has driven in 13 RBI. Ian Strom (Hopedale, Mass.) has stolen 15 bases, trailed by Consolmagno's 10 as the team is tie steals. On the mound, Kendall Pomeroy (Shrewsbury, Mass.) has four wins, while Andrew Ryan (Rochester, Mass.) has three wins to his name and leads the staff with 46 strikeouts. Brendan Long (Naples, Fla.) leads the team and conference with eight saves, boasting a 1.80 ERA. UMass Lowell is batting .231 as a team, and the staff posts a 3.40 ERA.

Scouting Boston College
The Eagles (21-15, 7-12 ACC) are coming off a series win against #4 Lousville Cardinals over the weekend, and had a three-game winning streak before the loss in the series finale. Michael Strem is batting .299 with 41 hits to lead the squad, and has driven in 25 runs. Joe Cronin has 28 RBI and three home runs to pace the rest of the offense. On the base paths, Jake Palomaki has 11 steals and has also scored 26 runs to lead the team in both categories. On the mound, Jacob Stevens has a 1.02 ERA in nine starts and is 3-2, with 53 strikeouts. Mike King and Jesse Adams both have picked up four wins to pace the staff. As a unit, BC is batting .259 and posting a 3.34 ERA.

Scouting Harvard
Harvard (15-21, 8-8 Ivy) have won three of its last four, including a 6-0 victory at Brown on April 24 to split a doubleheader. Sophomore Matt Rothenberg is hitting at a .377 clip with 40 hits. His classmate John Fallon has a team-high 24 RBI and five long balls in 127 at bats. Mitch Klug has scored 24 runs and is third on team with 34 hits. The Crimson have a .256 team average, and combined ERA of 4.86.

Series History
BC defeaed UMass Lowell, 7-6, in the only meeting in 2014, while this will be the first meeting between Harvard and the River Hawks.
