Kaylan DiModugno (Deer Park, N.Y.) notched the teams only two scores as the UMass Lowell women's lacrosse team (1-14, 0-5 AE) hit an 18-2 setback at UAlbany (8-4, 4-0 AE) Saturday afternoon.

Behind four consecutive goals and four tallies by Rachel Bowles, the Great Danes cruised into half time with an 11-1 advantage.

DiModugno posted her eighth tally of the year when she netted the squad's first goal of the contest, giving UAlbany a 4-1 edge with 19:01 to play in the first half. Sophomore attacker
Taylor Sokol (Hopkinton, Mass.) picked up the assist on the play, picking up her 14th point in eight games for a team-high eight-game point streak.

The home team rounded out the first half with on an 11-0 run after DiModugno's goal, giving UAlbany a comfortable lead at the half.

The two squads traded goals to begin the second half, including a second of the contest by DiModugno for a 12-2 score.

The Great Danes shut out the River Hawks for the remaining 24 minutes of play, while notching six uninterrupted goals before regulation play ended.

Saturday's contest marked the second ever meeting between the two teams in the sport of women's lacrosse, as UAlbany owns a 2-0 advantage in the all-time series. UMass Lowell in back in action Saturday, April 24 in a special Stroke Awareness game, slated to start at 11 a.m.
