LOWELL, Mass. –
The UMass Lowell softball team (5-29, 0-9 AE) will wrap up a 12-game road swing with a pair of non-conference twin bills this week before returning home for a weekend America East series.

The River Hawks will travel to Dartmouth and Rhode Island for doubleheaders on April 12 and 14, respectively. The squad then welcomes Stony Brook  for a three-game league series on Saturday-Sunday, April 16-17.

RIVER HAWK RECAP
UMass Lowell, who owns a 5-29 overall record and a 0-9 mark in league play, is in the midst of a seven-game skid and a four game scoreless streak. Last week, the River Hawks had a mid-week tilt against Boston College postponed before being swept at Maine. The Black Bears took game one of the series, 8-0, in five innings, in addition to securing a 6-0 decision in game two and a 13-0 outcome in game two. Six different River Hawks tallied one hit apiece on the weekend, including junior Taylor August (Howell, N.J.), who registered one hit and one walk, and freshman pitcher Kaysee Talcik (Shelton, Conn.), who logged a hit in her first career at-bat.

LEADING THE FLOCK
Through 34 games this year, junior Tori Alcorn (Lowell, Mass.) leads the River Hawks with a .337 batting average, 33 hits, 18 runs, 17 walks and 14 stolen bases. Junior Alisha Welch (Langley, British Columbia), who is hitting .314, is first on the team with 17 RBI, while sophomore Samantha McQueen (Ewing, N.J.) adds 10 RBI and a team-high six doubles. In the circle, freshman Sydney Wash (Suffolk, Va.) leads the squad's pitching staff with a 2.88 ERA, 43 strikeouts and two wins.

SCOUTING DARTMOUTH
Dartmouth enters the series on a nine-game win streak to stand at 19-9 overall. Their most recent two victories came against Columbia on April 9 (7-0, 12-2). Katie McEachern leads the Big Green with a .446 batting average, nine home runs and 25 RBI. Breanna Ethridge (2.21 ERA) and Morgan McCalmon (2.74 ERA) are pacing the team in the circle.

SCOUTING RHODE ISLAND
Rhode Island is 11-16 on the season after dropping two out of three against St. Louis last weekend. Ali Summers is first on the team with a .311 batting average, while Kylie Shivery owns a team-best 24 RBI. In the circle, Becca Rogers boasts an ERA of 2.99 to go along with her 8-4 record this year.

SCOUTING STONY BROOK
Stony Brook owns a 16-17-1 mark this season, and has won its last five contests against Fairleigh-Dickinson, Columbia and Hartford. The squad will face Sacred Heart this week before heading to Lowell. Allie Pisciotta leads the team at the plate, batting .367 with 22 RBI, while pitcher Jane Sallen owns an 11-10 record.

SERIES HISTORY
The River Hawks and Big Green have met 13 times in the sport of softball. Dartmouth leads the series, 12-1, but UMass Lowell earned a 1-0 win when the teams last met on April 22, 2014. The all-time series against Rhode Island is knotted at 2-2 after the squads split a twin bill on April 15, 2015. The Seawolves swept two games last year on April 22, although the River Hawks still maintain an 8-6 edge all-time.

AROUND THE LEAGUE
The River Hawks currently sit seventh in the America East standings. UAlbany leads the league with a 21-8 overall mark and a 7-0 start in conference action. As a team, UMass Lowell is second in the conference with 830 at-bats. Individually, Tori Alcorn ranks second in the America East for walks (17) and third for stolen bases (14). Sydney Wash is fifth in the standings with a 2.88 ERA.

GOING STREAKING
Both Samantha McQueen and Brianna West turned in six-game streaks earlier this year, good for the team's longest hitting stretches of the season.
