LOWELL, Mass. – The UMass Lowell softball team (4-22, 0-3 AE) heads out on a five-game road swing this week. The River Hawks are slated to visit Sacred Heart for a non-conference twin bill on Wednesday, March 30 beginning at 3 p.m. before traveling to America East foe UAlbany for a three-game series this weekend, Friday-Saturday, April 1-2.

RIVER HAWK RECAP
UMass Lowell, who owns a 4-22 overall record and a 0-3 mark in league play, is looking to snap a 12-game skid. The River Hawks opened their America East schedule with three games at home against Binghamton last weekend. The Bearcats swept the series with pair of wins on March 26 and added a 6-3 comeback on March 27. Junior
Alisha Welch (Langley, British Columbia) paced UMass Lowell at the plate over the weekend, batting .500 (5-10) with two RBI.

SCOUTING SACRED HEART
Sacred Heart enters Wednesday's doubleheader at 7-16. The Pioneers went 1-1 against Manhattan in their most recent outings on March 26. So far this season, Kelyn Fillmore leads the team with a .297 batting average and 19 hits. Lauren Delgadillo, who is hitting .247, and Victoria D'Addario, who owns a .258 average, are tied for the team lead with seven RBI apiece. Emily Orosco boasts a 1.87 ERA to lead the SHU pitchers. Jamie Carlson owns a 3-6 record with 58 strikeouts.

SCOUTING UALBANY
UAlbany takes on Colgate for a mid-week tilt before welcoming UMass Lowell for three games over the weekend. The Great Danes currently own a 15-8 overall record, including a 2-0 mark in the America East. Elizabeth Snow ranks first on the team with a .419 average and four home runs. McKenzie Bump has totaled 26 hits and Maggie Cocks adds 19 RBI. Celeste Verdolivo has a team-low 2.75 ERA so far, while Devin Durando is 9-3 this season.

THE LAST TIME
The River Hawks have squared off against Sacred Heart 34 times since 1980. The Pioneers own a 28-6 advantage in the all-time series, but UMass Lowell earned a 1-0 win in nine innings when the teams last met in 1999. The River Hawks lead UAlbany, 9-3, in a series that began in 1997. However, the Great Danes went 2-1 against UMass Lowell last year in 2015.
