SCOUTING THE RIVER HAWKS: The River Hawks enter this week's two game road trip battle tested, after playing a pair of one-goal games last week. Their most recent game was a three overtime 9-8 loss in the conference opener against Hartford. The River Hawks scored four consecutive goals to close out the fourth quarter, including a game-tying goal with 1:03 left in regulation to force extra time. Sophomore Sean Tyrrell (Calgary, Alberta) had a hand in all four of the final goals, scoring the first two, and assisting on the final two.

Tyrrell's five point game {3g, 2a} gives him 11 points in the last two games. Last year's leading scorer now has 22 points on the year, and leads the team in assists with 9. The primary benefactor of his passing has been freshman Austin Lane (Aurora, Ontario). After starting the year with two scoreless games, Lane has scored at least one goal in the last six, and has picked up multiple points in four of those contests. Following a goal and an assist against Hartford, Lane now has 15 points on the year {11g, 4a}. Freshman defenseman Ryder Lessing (Framingham, Mass.) forced three turnovers against Hartford, tying a career high. He now has 11 on the season, good for second on the team. Goaltender Grant Lardieri (Ada, Mich.) picked up his second career win in Tuesday's victory over Wagner. The freshman how has a 2-6 record, with a 10.42 goals against average and 47.1 save percentage.

SCOUTING THE FRIARS: Providence enters the game having won three of their last four, with a 4-3 overall record. Senior Will Mazzone is putting together an impressive finale to his college career, with 25 points {16g, 9a} in 16 games, a team high. With one offensive star on the way out, another is emerging for the Friars in Freshman Brendan Kearns, who is second on the team in goal (13) and total points (19). Fellow freshman Tate Boyce has adjusted well to the college game, the Providence net minder has a 4-3 record through 7 games, with a 9.29 goals against average and is stopping 58 percent of the shots he faces.

SCOUTING THE CATAMOUNTS: Saturday's game will be the conference opener for Vermont, who is 3-5 out of conference so far. The Catamounts present an experienced opponent; led offensively by a dynamic duo of Juniors. Ian MacKay leads the team with 31 points {20g, 11a}. Fellow classman Cam Milligan leads the team with 16 assists, and totals 28 points. The Catamounts have split the goaltending time nearly evenly between junior Jon Kaplan and senior Justin Rosenberg. The two have combined to allow 10.66 goals per game, and a .507 save percentage.
