Austin Lane (Aurora, Ontario) in for his fourth consecutive game. The goal raised his total on the year to seven, good for second on the team. Offensively, UMass Lowell's attack is spread out, with five players averaging more than a point per game. At the top of that list is junior
Sam Klingsporn (Aloha, Ore.) with 15 points {14g, 1a} in five games played. Sophomore
Will Puduski (Westford, Mass.) anchors the defense; he leads the River Hawks in caused turnovers (11) and all non-goalies in ground balls (15). In net, Freshman
Grant Lardieri continues to improve with experience, the Ada, Michigan native has a 1-5 record, with a 10.85 goals against average to go with a 45.5 save percentage.
The River Hawks have allowed increasingly fewer goals in their last five games, going back to their February 17
th loss to Yale. UMass Lowell is now allowing just over 10 goals per game, while averaging close to eight of their own. Keep an eye on the River Hawks offense late in the first half; the team has 5 goals in the final two minutes before halftime this year, including two in last week's game versus Manhattan.
SCOUTING THE SEAHAWKS: Wagner enters Tuesday's game with a three game winning streak. Their last victory, an 18-4 win over Hampton. It was the most complete games the Seahawks have played this season, setting a new season high in goals scored, and tying a season best for goals allowed. Sophomore Andrew Streilein led the way putting up six points {3g, 3a} pushing his season total to 23, good for first on the team, nearly a quarter of the total points for Wagner this year. Matt Sefcik is the primary goaltender for the Seahawks, the freshman has a 4-3 record so far this year, is allowing eight and a half goals per game, and stops 52.2% of shots that come his way.
SCOUTING THE HAWKS: Saturday's contest will be the first conference game for both Hartford and UMass Lowell. The Hawks have been able to balance offense and defense well so far this year, averaging just over 11 goals per game, and surrendering just over 10. Most of their offensive contributions have come from Dylan Jinks, who is coming off of his first America East Rookie of the Week Award. Jinks leads the team in goals (13), assists (8), and overall points (21). In net for the Hawks, Ryan Vanderford brings a 9.96 goals against average, 47.9 save percentage, and a 2-3 record. Perhaps the most impressive part of the Hawks game game comes at the face off dot, Hartford is winning draws at a 67% clip in 2016.
