River Hawks entertain Manhattan on Saturday afternoon

SCOUTING THE RIVER HAWKS: The River Hawks are riding the momentum of their first win of the season, topping Jacksonville 12-9 on March 12. A 4-0 run in the second quarter helped propel UMass Lowell to the win. Overall, the River Hawks put together their most complete offensive performance of the year, getting off 46 shots, 26 of those ended up on net, both season highs. Sophomore Keenan Koswin (Winnipeg, Manitoba) had a career day with four total points, scoring two goals in the first half and assisting on two in the second. Austin Lane (Aurora, Ontario) picked up a hat trick continuing his hot play as of late. The freshman has points in three consecutive games, and now has 7 on the year (6g, 1a). Freshman goalie Grant Lardieri (Ada, Mich.) picked up his first career win in the game with a 9 save performance, including four saves in the fourth quarter to hold off a late Jacksonville push.
 
The 12 goals scored by UMass Lowell in the win is a season high, they are now averaging 8.2 per game on the season, and allowing 11.4. A pair of sophomores leads the River Hawks scoring attack. Sam Klingsporn (Aloha, Ore.) is the team's leading scorer with 14 goals and 15 points on the year. Sean Tyrrell (Calgary, Alberta) has 10 points, including a season high 5 in a 12-10 loss to Fairfield. Lardieri has started all 5 games in net, posting a 1-4 record, 11.63 goals against average, and 45.5 save percentage.
 
SCOUTING THE JASPERS: The Jaspers come to Lowell looking for their first win of the year. They came closest to breaking through in their last game, a 6-5 loss to Delaware on Tuesday. A strong freshman class, highlighted by leading scorer Parker Giarratana {11g, 7a}, leads Manhattan. Fellow freshman Matt Garvey {7g, 4a} is second on the team in points. Sophomore Goalie Michael Zingaro has started all 6 games in net for Manhattan, he holds a 0-6 record, with a 49.1 save percentage.
