ALBANY, N.Y. – In her final game in a River Hawk uniform, 
Lindsey Doucette (Hopkinton, Mass.) scored 20 points as the UMass Lowell (4-24, 1-15) women's basketball team fell to the UAlbany Great Danes, 88-57, in the team's season finale Thursday night.
Doucette went 9-of-18 from the field and ends her career with 1,099 points, nine short of sole possession of ninth all-time in program history. The senior aslos grabbed six rebounds and recorded four assists. 
"It's hard to believe the season's over already," said Head Coach 
Jenerrie Harris. "I'm proud of the way the girls finished tonight and play tough the whole game. For Lindsey and Mel to play the way they did tonight against a quality opponent is a great send off for their careers. I'm happy that they can walk off tonight and feel proud of the effort they put out there tonight."
The Great Danes went on a 16-4 run in the first five minutes of the opening quarter and entered the second with a 29-13 advantage. 
Nicole Hayner (Bedford, N.H.) and Doucette led the UMass Lowell offense with five and four points, respectively.
Doucette added seven points in the second quarter, including a traditional three-point play beating the shot clock buzzer with one hand, to lead the River Hawks with 11 points at the half. Shereesha Richards and Imani Tate led all scorers with 15 and 13, respectively, as UAlbany held a 50-23 advantage after the opening 20 minutes.
Both teams scored 19 points in the third quarter, both 
Melissa Frase (Tamworth, N.H.) and 
Kayla Gibbs (Teaneck, N.J.) chipped in five points to lead UMass Lowell. Three of Gibbs' points came in the midst of a 7-2 run for UMass Lowell to cut the deficit to 67-42. 
Behind Frase's team-high six assists, the River Hawks set a season high with 20 helpers. Hayner connected on three triples to finish with 13 points.
Richards scored a game-high 41 points and Tate added 23. Heather Foster grabbed 11 rebounds and recorded two blocks. Tate and Zakiya Saunders both dished out seven assists. The Great Danes shot 52.9 percent (37-70) from the field.
The Great Danes tied the all-time series at 8-8, as the River Hawks finished the season 4-24 overall and 1-15 in America East play.Â
