SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS: Yale will play its season opener against the River Hawks after squaring off against Stony Brook and Villanova in exhibition games. The Bulldogs are nationally ranked in several preseason polls, including at No. 9 by
Inside Lacrosse. Yale returns eight starters from last season, including First-Team Preseason All-American Michael Quinn and Third Team Preseason All-American Ben Reeves. Yale finished 11-5 last season, which included a 3-4 record on the road.
HOME GROWN TALENT: 17 of the 39 players (44%) on the UMass Lowell roster in 2016 call Massachusetts home, which includes nine freshmen from the Bay State.
