The UMass Lowell women's basketball team wraps up its season series against Maine, hosting the squad's second to last home game of the year at 7 p.m.

Looking at the River Hawks
Asia Mitchell-Owens connected on a jumper with 3.6 seconds left on the clock to deliver the River Hawks their first America East win of the season, 68-66, at Vermont. UMass Lowell held a 12-point lead in the fourth quarter and the Catamounts battled back to tie it up at 66-66 with 11 seconds on the clock. Nicole Hayner led the way for UMass Lowell with 21 points and Kayla Gibbs chipped in 17, points while Lindsey Doucette added 16. Melissa Frase dished out a game-high seven assists.

Leading the Flock
The UMass Lowell offense is led by a trio of players averaging double-digits this season. Lindsey Doucette is controlling the attack with 14.3 points and 8.2 rebounds per game. Kayla Gibbs is scoring 12.3 points per game with 7.7 rebounds, while Nicole Hayner is scoring 11.9 points and hitting 38.9 percent (37-95) of her three-pointers. Melissa Frase has dished out 78 (3.4 Ast/Game) assists to facilitate the offense. On the defensive side of the ball, Doucette has 17 blocks and 26 steals. As a unit, UMass Lowell is shooting 515-of-1281 (40.2%) from the field and 32.5 percent (117-360) from beyond the arc.

Scouting Maine
Maine enters Thursday's contest 19-7 overall and 10-1 in America East action, as the squad looks to extend its win streak to eight games. The Black Bears picked up a pair of win last week, after defeating UMBC, 72-38, on the road on Feb. 6, and New Hampshire, 59-55, at home two days later on Feb. 8. Through 26 games so far this season, junior Sigi Kolzar is first on the team, averaging 16.6 points and 4.0 assists per game, while senior Liz Wood is leading the team in boards (7.7), steals (2.7) and assists (1.8) per game, and putting up 9.9 points. As a team, Maine is notching 61.1 points, while shooting 42.4 percent (232-546) from the field, including 31.6 percent (64-203) from downtown and 73.9 percent (84-113) from the line.

Series History
The Black Bears lead the series, 5-0, and look to go for their third series sweep following Maine's 74-44 win in the first meeting on Jan. 13.

1000-Point Club
Lindsey Doucette became the 15th player in program history to eclipse the 1000-point plateau, with a career-high 28 points against Hartford. With 329 points this season, the senior has 1,035 in her career. Doucette has set career-highs with 142 field goals and 329 points scored this season, overcoming her total of 308 as a sophomore. Doucette also needs 11 points to enter the top-10 in all-time scoring (1,046). With 12 points she will move into sole possession of 10th.

Always a Threat from Deep
As a unit, the River Hawks are leading the league shooting 32.5 percent from downtown, and are third averaging 5.3 makes per game. Last season, UMass Lowell led the league in three-point shooting with a 33.2 3FG% and averaged 6.8 makes per game.

Balling in the America East
The River Hawks are fourth in the in the conference with a 72.8 free throw percentage, and 11.7 offensive rebounds per game. UMass Lowell is fourth averaging 59.4 points and shooting 40.2 percent from the field. The team sits in fifth with a rebounding margin of +1.3.

Spreading the Wealth
The River Hawks have had 12 games with three or more scorers in double figures. In three of the 12, UMass Lowell has had four players with 10 or more points.

Controlling the Glass
The River Hawks have outrebounded their opponents in 16 games, including a five-game streak from November 28-December 9. UMass Lowell held a 41.8 (209) to 33.2 (166) advantage throughout the run.
