LOWELL, Mass. –
The UMass Lowell women's basketball team continue their home stand, hosting the UAlbany Great Danes at 11 a.m. for Health and Fitness Field Trip Day, presented by Lowell General Hospital and Collins Dentistry for Children at the Tsongas Center.

Looking at the River Hawks
The River Hawks saw an 11-point third-quarter lead dwindle down until the Binghamton Bearcats took a 59-57 advantage with 6:35 left in regulation. UMass Lowell regained the upper hand, 64-63, on a fast break layup by Kayla Gibbs (Teaneck, N.J.) with 34 seconds left, and extended it to 66-63 on a pair of free throws by Lindsey Doucette (Hopkinton, Mass.). The Bearcat's Kim Albrecht hit a deep three with 0.4 ticks showing and Binghamton iced the game in overtime. Gibbs scored a career-high 27 points with 10 rebounds, and Doucette chipped in 19. Imani Watkins dropped in 27 for Binghamton, and Albrecht added 23. The loss snapped the River Hawks' four-game win streak in the Tsongas Center, and was the first loss under Jenerrie Harris when her team scores 70 or more points.

Leading the Flock
The UMass Lowell offense is led by a trio of players averaging double-digits this season. Doucette is controlling the attack with 13.9 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. After her career game, Gibbs is scoring 13.2 points per game with 8.7 rebounds, while Nicole Hayner (Bedford, N.H.) is scoring 10.3 points. Asia Mitchell-Owens (Roxbury, Mass.) is connecting on 40.3 percent (29-72) of her three-point attempts, and Melissa Frase (Tamworth, N.H.) has dished out 54 assists to facilitate the offense. On the defensive side of the ball, Doucette has 13 blocks and 24 steals. As a unit, UMass Lowell is shooting 417-of-1076 (38.8%) from the field and 32.1 percent (100-312) from three-point range.

Scouting UAlbany
The Great Danes (15-3, 6-0 AE) are riding a seven-game win streak, as their last loss coming against USC before Christmas. UAlbany completed a 2-0 conference week, defeating Binghamton (59-47) and Stony Brook (73-54). Preseason All-Conference player Shereesha Richards is leading the team and league with 23.6 points per game and 9.2 rebounds. Imani Tate and Zakiya Saunders add support with 18.1 and 10.3 points per game, respectively. Tate and Saunders lead the team with 53 steals and 141 assists, as well. Tiana-Jo Carter controls the net with 19 blocks. As a squad, the Great Danes are shooting at a 49.8 percent clip (479-980) from the field, and are 42-of-145 (29,0%) from beyond the arc.

Series History
The River Hawks lead the series, 8-6. The Great Danes have won the last four meetings, all in Division I, after knocking off UMass Lowell, 93-57, in the final meeting last season.

Always a Threat from Deep
As a unit, the River Hawks are leading the league shooting 32.1 percent from downtown, and are third averaging 5.3 makes per game. Last season, UMass Lowell led the league in three-point shooting with a 33.2 3FG% and averaged 6.8 makes per game.

The River Hawks lead the conference with a 74.5 free throw percentage, and in third with 13.1 offensive rebounds. UMass Lowell is fifth averaging 59.3 points and seventh with 11.1 assists per game. The team sits in fourth with a rebounding margin of +2.3.
