Emily Wright's (Avon, Conn.) second career hat trick propelled UMass Lowell to its first halftime tie (2-2), and second half lead (3-2).
Devon McKercher (Vestal, N.Y.) added a pair of goals, and
Jesse Jay (Amherst, N.H.) added her 14th goal of the season.
The Price is WrightWith eight goals in her last five games, Wright now has a team-high 15 goals. She has recorded two hat tricks in those games, and has four multi-goal games this season.
Jumping for JayJay leads the River Hawks with 21 points and seven assists, her 14 goals rank second on the team. She has recorded at least one point in 11 games, and has six multi-point games.
Protecting the NestBarrett leads the America East and is third nationally with 143 saves. Her 10.21 saves per game also lead the conference, and rank fourth in the nation. Beginning of a New EraIn its first year of competition, UMass Lowell's roster consists of 21 freshmen, two juniors and one sophomore.
Scouting VermontThe Catamounts have lost three of their last four games, following a mid-season five-game winning streak. They fell to No. 9 Stony Brook 12-5 their last time out on April 11. Jessica Roach leads the team with 52 goals and 13 assists for 65 points. Vanessa VanderZalm adds 30 goals and eight assists to rank second. In the net, Meg Hopkins has made 95 saves and carries a 10.39 goals against average and a .408 save percentage.
