Box Score (PDF) | HighlightsLOWELL, Mass. – The UMass Lowell women's lacrosse team dropped its first-ever America East contest, 21-1 to UAlbany Saturday afternoon, at Wicked Blue Field.

Carissa Medeiros. "We knew it was going to be a tough game, but I'm excited to have our first America East game under our belt. We're looking forward to the quick turnaround and getting back on the field against Bryant."
The Great Danes (7-1, 1-0) took control of the game with two goals in the first 1:04, and took a 15-0 lead into halftime.
The River Hawk (0-8, 0-1) were held at bay until
Emily Wright (Avon, Conn.) received a pass from
Devon McKercher (Vestal, N.Y.) and fired a bouncer past Crystal Harris with 7:13 remaining in regulation.
Wright's tally was her seventh of the season, tying her for second on the team. McKercher's helper was her third of the year.
Courtney Barrett (South Burlington, Vt.) made 11 saves, and Courtney Henderson played 47:47, before getting relieved by Harris.
UMass Lowell is back in action on March 23, when Bryant comes to Cushing Field for a 4 p.m. tilt.
