Freezing temperatures and a coat of snow covering Bill Beck Field have forced the UMass Lowell baseball team to cancel the conference opening series against UAlbany.
Â
The clubs relocated the game from LeLacheur Park in Lowell to the turf on the campus of the University of Rhode Island with the hopes of eluding foul weather and playing the three game series. While several games have been shuffled due to weather this season, this marks the second series that has been cancelled due to snow as the team's trip to Dallas Baptist was called at the end of February.
Â
The River Hawks are scheduled to travel to Bryant to battle the Bulldogs in one game on Tuesday at Conaty Park. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.

Alternate playing locations are being searched for, but no dates have been determined. Check GoRiverHawks.com or followÂ
