Keenan Koswin (Winnipeg, Manitoba) scored his second and third goals of the season but it wasn't enough as the UMass Lowell men's lacrosse team dropped their third consecutive game, falling 11-5 to Fairfield on Tuesday afternoon at Cushing Field Complex.

The River Hawks (1-6, 0-1 America East) fell behind by two after the first quarter before
Sean Tyrrell (Calgary, Alberta) put his squad on the board. The Stags wouldn't relinquish their lead as they extended their advantage to 6-1 at the half.

Sam Klingsporn (Aloha, Ore.) put home his sixth goal of the season three minutes into the final period before Koswin added his two and
Nicholas Pino (North Andover, Mass.) scored the games final goal with three seconds on the clock.

River Hawk goalkeepers
Giles Ober (Southborough, Mass.) and
Alex Desmarais (Atkinson, N.H.) combined to make 14 saves. Ober made 10 stops on 17 shots faced while Desmarais made four saves and allowed four goals.

The Stags held the advantage in faceoffs (14-4), ground balls (29-16) and shots (46-21) while each team cleared 15 times.

The River Hawks will return to the turf at Cushing Field Complex on Saturday as part of a doubleheader with the women's lacrosse team. The women host Albany at noon before the men square off with Vermont at 3 p.m.
