With the decision, the River Hawks move to 8-7 overall on the year.

"Today, we came out a little flat," said Head Coach
Danielle Henderson. "But overall, I would say this was a great weekend for our program."

Sophomore
Tori Alcorn (Lowell, Mass.) was the visitor's first base runner of the day, reaching on an error in the top of the first. Junior
Alyssa Zinkiewicz (Massapequa, N.Y.) was hit by a pitch, and both runners advanced on a passed ball, but were eventually stranded there.

After the Eagles were retired in order in the bottom of the inning, sophomore
Alisha Welch (Langley, British Columbia) logged one of the River Hawks' two hits in the outing with a single through the right side.

EMU got on the board in the home half of the third, using a leadoff base hit and a RBI sacrifice bunt to plate the run. The home team would then extend its margin to 2-0 in the fourth on a single to left field.

Neither side was able to make noise in the fifth, but the Eagles added one more in the sixth. And although junior
Emilia Davies (Parker, Colo.) led off with a hit in the seventh, Eastern Michigan held on to seal the 3-0 victory.

Erica Armenti (Shrewsbury, Mass.) went the distance in the circle with a pair of strikeouts.
