LOWELL, Mass. - The UMass Lowell men's basketball team, who is currently 1-2 on the young season, hosts Wheelock College in the first game of a doubleheader with the UMass Lowell women's basketball team on Tuesday at Costello Athletic Center. Tipoff for the men's game is slated for 4 p.m.

Matt Harris (Erie, Pa.) registered a team- and season-high 16 points, as UMass Lowell dropped an 83-57 decision at No. 18 Notre Dame on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 18. Harris tied a career best with four, three-point field goals in the outing. Redshirt freshman

Tyler Livingston (Hudson, N.H.) added to the offense with nine points for the third consecutive game, while redshirt sophomore
Jahad Thomas (Williamsport, Pa.) posted seven points and seven rebounds, as well.
LEADING THE FLOCKThrough three games so far in 2015-16,
Jahad Thomas and
Isaac White are tied for first on the squad with 11.7 points per game. Thomas boasts a team-best 8.0 rebounds per game, while White paces the team from three-point territory, as well (6-for-12).
Tyler Livingston is adding to the offense with 9.0 points per game. Senior
Mark Cornelius (Westford, Mass.) chips in with team highs for assists (2.3) and steals (2.3) per game, and is shooting 54.5% from the floor, as well. As a whole, UMass Lowell is shooting 39.2 percent (71-181) from the floor, 37.9 (25-66) from beyond the arc and 66.7 percent (34-51) on free throws.
SCOUTING WHEELOCKThe Wildcats enter Tuesday's contest 0-3, after dropping a pair of decisions last week. Wheelock was defeated in its second game of the Wheaton College Tip-Off Tournament, 89-65, by The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) on Nov. 13 before falling in its home opener to Eastern Nazarene, 93-82, on Nov. 17. Through three games, junior Anthony Williams is pacing the squad with 16.7 points and 7.0 boards per game. Classmate Nicolas Fenton has averaged 10.7 points per game with a team-best four steals and 15 assists. As a team, the Wildcats are shooting 42.9 percent (94-196) from the field, including 33.3 percent (25-75) from long range. Wheelock is pulling down 34.0 boards per game, but has averaged 14.3 turnovers so far on the young season.
SERIES HISTORYTuesday's contest marks the first meeting ever between UMass Lowell and Wheelock in the sport of men's basketball.
STEALING THE SHOWThe River Hawks posted 15 steals against Sacred Heart on Nov. 18, while forcing 25 turnovers. The squad was led by
Mark Cornelius, who logged a career-high with five takeaways. He is currently second in the America East with 2.3 steals per game, while the team as a whole sits in second with 8.7 per game.
HOME SWEET HOMEAlthough the River Hawks have only 12 home games this year, the squad has a history of performing well in friendly confines. Including this season, UMass Lowell has accumulated a 100-53 mark in Lowell since 2003-04.
HELPING HANDSMark Cornelius, logged a single game high for the team with four assists against Sacred Heart on Nov. 18. He leads the team with seven helpers so far this year. As a whole, the River Hawks sit fourth the America East with 12.0 per game.
A THREAT ON THREESUMass Lowell is strong from beyond the arc for the second straight season. The team is currently second in the America East for 3FGs made (8.3) and third in 3FG percentage (37.9). Through two games,
