The Key to the SeasonSuccess according to UMass Lowell Head Coach
Norm Bazin depends on how quickly the players can mesh as a team. "The team dynamic at Lowell is very important and we'll have to monitor the buy-in and how quickly we can blend our new personnel within that team concept," said Bazin. "Last year, we had over a dozen freshmen get acclimated to college hockey. This year the challenge will be for those guys to take another step with everyone knowing who they are."
Â

Â
A.J. White, Captain, Forward, Senior, 113 games, 17 goals, 37 assists, 54 points"He has been named captain is ready to be a major part on any success the team achieves," Said Bazin. "AJ's contributions sometimes go unnoticed by everyone but his teammates and coaches."
Â
Michael Kapla, Captain, Defenseman, Junior, 80 games, 10 goals, 32 assists, 42 points"Mike continues to improve as he ages," said Bazin. "His ability to see the ice and make plays are major assets."
Â
Quotes from the CoachBazin on the 4-3 exhibition win against New Brunswick"There were several teaching points. It's all about habits at this time of the year, it's about playing the game the right way and it's about implementing systems."
Â
Bazin on the season open against RPI"It's game number one, it's excitement for the kids, it's a home opener with fans, it's about trying to mesh a team together and it's step number one; we're in the infancy stages of that, but the guys are excited to play at home."
Â
Bazin on the opener and RPI"We're trying to keep it simple and we're trying to concentrate on how we can continue to improve every single day. Special teams is going to be as point of emphasis leading into this, both the power play and penalty kill, playing at tempo is going to be an emphasis. We're playing an opponent with very good legs; they're quick, they're good on transition so we're going to have to be equal to the task and hopefully play an up temp game."
Â
Bazin on the home crowdYou're focused on the task at hand, but you can't help but hear the terrific crowd, the students have been unbelievable the last few years and we hope to get our best student crowd ever and we hope to break the student attendance record. They've been great and it does play a huge role in the end.
Â
Senior captain forward AJ White on the home crowdYou always get excited for opening night. Last year was a surreal moment and we want to break the record this year for students. It's always exciting, the first time, getting back into it; getting to listen to the fans, it's a great time. You feed off that energy. Every now and then there are times where we need a little picking up and they begin cheering and it makes you want to make a play and make something happen.
