River Hawks Look To Stay On Track at Connecticut Cup

LOWELL, Mass. – The UMass Lowell men's golf team looks to continue competing and improving going into this week as they enter play in the Connecticut Cup.
The River Hawks will compete against a slew of other Division I schools, including host school University of Connecticut.
"This is a premier event," said head coach Ken Hughes. "The Connecticut Cup is very prestigious. To be invited to it is an honor and we look forward to that."
After finishing tied for 11th at the Binghamton University Fall Golf Invitational, their best finish of the year, UMass Lowell looks to continue getting better and continue to reach for their goals.
"One of our big goals is to break 300 in a tournament and to break 600 for over two days," said junior Ryan Paris. "We came close to that goal, but we have two more tournaments to achieve that."
The River Hawks have competed against top competition through their season so far, and they look forward to significant competition at the Connecticut Cup.
"These guys are Division I athletes and belong playing with these guys," Hughes said. "I feel that we seem very comfortable playing with them. It is neat playing against schools from Florida, schools like UConn that have a premier legacy."
