SCOUTING THE RIVER HAWKS: Freshman Brianna Rudolph had 17 points and was one of four players to score in double-figures, but ultimately the River Hawks fell at home to Hartford 67-56. The loss was the third straight for the River Hawks and second in a row at home after they had rattled off six-straight wins between the Costello Athletic Center (5 wins) and Tsongas Center (1 win). Jasmine McRoy scored 12 while Melissa Frase and Lindsey Doucette (Hopkinton, Mass.) added 10. In addition to their 22 combined points, McRoy and Doucette each added eight rebounds.
SCOUTING THE WILDCATS: Riding a three-game winning streak the Wildcats sit in second place in the conference with a 4-1 record, and 12-5 overall. Elizabeth Belanger is averaging 14.8 points per game, followed by Ariel Gaston (11.7) and Kaylee Kilpatrick (10.4). Gaston is averaging 3.4 assists per game, as well. Belanger and Kilpatrick also lead the team in rebounds with 6.6 and 6.2 per game, respectively. UNH is shooting 41.3 percent (386-935) from the field, and only 27.6 percent (68-246) from three point range.
ALL-TIME SERIES: The River Hawks and Wildcats have met four times over the years with UNH holding a 3-1 edge. The Wildcats took both meetings last season starting with a 75-68 victory over the River Hawks at the Tsongas Center before claiming a 78-71 decision at Lundholm Gymnasium.Â

CLEANING THE GLASS: Since being outrebounded by St. Francis Brooklyn 50-30 the River Hawks have been cleaning the glass, outrebounding four of their last last five opponents, including their last two by a combined 82-64. Despite dropping both decisions, UMass Lowell grabbed a 42-34 edge over Hartford and 40-30 over Maine. The River Hawks have closed the rebounding margin from -7.2 after the SFB game to -2.2 entering todayís contest.
RUDOLPH FLYING HIGH:Â Freshman Brianna Rudolph is coming off her second best offensive display this season. The guard poured in 11 of her game-high 17 points against the Hawks after the break. Rudolph was just shy of her season-high 18 against Mt. Ida.Â
COMFORT OF YOUR OWN HOME: The River Hawks will play their next four games at home where they hold a 6-4 record. Stony Brook, Vermont and Binghamton will all head to Lowell to wrap up a stretch of four-of-five home games. The games against the Seawolves and Catamounts will be double-headers with the menís basketball team with the UVM games being played at the Tsongas Center.
SLIGHT SLIP: The River Hawks entered the game against No. 13 Duke on January 19 as the leagues highest scoring offense, where they remained until dropping the game at Maine. Two of their three losses have come against the conferences top defensive teams in scoring average, with Albany (56.0) and Maine (55.9).
TOP TRIOS: The River Hawks trio of Shannon Samuels, Jasmine McRoy and Lindsey Doucette have poured in a combined 626 points and rank fifith among America East schools. Samuels paces the offense, scoring 15.1 per game and ranks sixth in the conference while McRoy (13.2 ppg) and Doucette (9.4 ppg) rank 11th and 24th, respectively.Â
