(.PDF)BOSTON -- The No. 6 ranked UMass Lowell hockey team fell at No. 2 Boston University, 4-3, in overtime on Sunday afternoon in Hockey East play in front of 4,786 fans at Agganis Arena.
With the loss the River Hawks fall to 15-5-3 overall (8-2-2 HEA), while the Terriers up their record to 13-4-4 and 8-2-2 in league play. The teams are currently tied atop the Hockey East standings with 18 points apiece.

C.J. Smith (Des Moines, Iowa) tied a career-high with his third two-goal game of the season, scoring UMass Lowell's first and third goals of the game. Smith tied the game a 1-1 with a rush down the left wing that beat BU goalie Matt O'Connor glove side on the backhand with 2:33 left in the opening period. Just 23 seconds later junior forward
A.J. White (Dearborn, Mich.) scored his seventh goal of the season off a feed in the left corner from sophomore forward
Evan Campbell (Port Coquitlam, B.C.) to give the River Hawks a 2-1 lead at the end of the first period. UMass Lowell owned an 18-11 shot advantage at the first intermission.
BU's Ahti Oksanen opened the scoring in the game at the 5:30 mark of the opening period. The Terriers scored two goals in the second period with Oksanen notching the game-tying goal, his second of the game with just 44 seconds left in the middle stanza. Danny O'Regan made it a one-goal game (3-2) in the second at 7:49 for the Terriers.
White finished the game with a game-high six shots on goal for the River Hawks, while senior forward
Terrence Wallin (Yardley, Pa.) amassed five shot on net.
BU freshman forward Jack Eichel scored the game-winner just 1:18 in the extra frame with a slapshot from the left faceoff circle on the power play to give the Terriers the victory.
Both teams notched 37 shots on goal in the contest. The Terriers went 3-for-4 on the power play and UMass Lowell finished the night 1-for-2. Junior goaltender
Kevin Boyle (Manalapan, N.J.) finished the night with 33 stops in the losing effort, while O'Connor stopped 34 shots in his 11th win of season for BU.
