DURHAM, N.H. - The UMass Lowell men's basketball team closes out a three-game road swing at the University of New Hampshire. The teams will square off in the second game of a doubleheader with the women's basketball contingent from both schools. Tipoff is slated for 3:30 p.m.

Lance Crawford tallied 11 points and a personal-best six assists. Although UMass Lowell trailed by as many as nine, the visitors pulled ahead in the final minutes of regulation. Hartford went over four minutes without a field goal, however the team came to life to tie the game at 54-54 and force the extra time that it would need to win.

SCOUTING NEW HAMPSHIREAfter defeating Binghamton, 73-66, in overtime on Jan. 17, the Wildcats sit at 9-9 overall and 2-3 in America East. Freshman Tanner Leissner leads the offensive charge with 12.6 points per game and controls the glass with 6.6 rebounds. Daniel Dion and Jaleen Smith add 11.3 and 10.7 points, respectively. Smith also averages 2.5 assists per game to lead the team. As a unit, UNH is shooting 42.9% (419-976) from the field and 37.7% (132-350) from three-point range.
SERIES HISTORYMonday's contest marks just the third meeting between the two squads, after splitting a home-and-home series last season. The Wildcats took the first meeting, 61-32, on January 26, 2014 before the River Hawks earned a 58-52 win on February 22.
ROAD WARRIORSThe River Hawks, who began the new year with a five-game road swing, play 18 games away from home in 2014-15. The team has accumulated an 81-89 road record since 2003-04. In addition to having played Ohio State and URI on opening weekend, other featured non-conference road games for UMass Lowell included Atlantic 10 Conference members Fordham (Nov. 23) and Duquesne (Dec. 20), Ivy League schools Cornell (Dec. 6) and Brown (Jan. 5), as well as Boston College (Dec. 29) of the Atlantic Coast Conference.
TOO CLOSE FOR COMFORTSeven of the squad's nine wins so far have been decided by 10 points or less, including five by seven points or less. The team even trailed in the second half in six games this year before battling back to earn the victories. Â
SUPERIOR SUBSAt UMBC on Jan. 7, UMass Lowell's bench players outscored the Retrievers', 51-1, to help the team come back to earn the overtime victory. The River Hawks' reserves have been pivotal this year, outscoring their opponents, 423-302. That's an average of +6.7 points per game.
